Customer Reviews:

You get what you pay for!!! [Posted on 2007-06-18]
I returned it for the Insignia iTravel Boombox! Eventhough, the iLive unit can really crank out the sound with the Ipod. All these reviews listed here are true. It has no bass, which is sad. The high-end frequencies are cleaner. Hip-Hop sounded so-so. Other music like Latin, Jazz, some Reggae, sounded better. There is a little hiss, which seems to come from interference from the Ipod itself, especially when my 60GB Ipod hard drive revs up, but the music drowns it out. This should NOT be a standalone unit in your living room. If you want something cleaner in sound, pay more money. If you want something for the beach, camping, parties, etc. buy this one. If I broke this unit I wouldn't care. If I took a Bose SoundDock to the beach, that would be insane. I did think the Insignia® iTravel Boombox puts out better sound for the same $60. Don't spend more than $60 on the ILive.

Undesired fuzz [Posted on 2007-07-13]
There is alot of fuzz and noise and the over all sound quality is not great. I would have been better off getting the cheaper one that sounds better without the CD player than to get this ilive piece.

Do not purchase this system  [Posted on 2007-08-22]
I am cheerleading coach and I really wanted a system that could play CDs and my i-pod (plus provide good sound within a gym for practice). I have been anything but happy with this system. It skips every time you play the CD. The sound is not very loud. The buttons are difficult to use and do not always respond when touched. Overall I would not rate this system highly.

Love it! [Posted on 2007-09-29]
The iLive has practically everything in it. It's a CD player, a radio, and can play every size iPod. It even has a connection for other MP3 players. I love that it even charges the iPod!! Plug it in at home or put batteries in it when you're on the go. The only downfall is its remote - for some reason it doesn't work from every angle and from certain distances.

ilive ipod boombox [Posted on 2007-10-01]
I have found this unit to be very easy to operate and have been using it every day at work. I work in a print shop with several different machines running most of the time and am able to turn up the volume loud enough to hear over the machines and it still sounds good. I especially like the Ipod function with remote control and charging capability. Overall I would say that this is a good unit and the price was very reasonable.
