Doesn't keep time [Posted on 2008-05-12] Everything works great on my iLuv, except for the most basic of things - it doesn't keep time! I have to reset the time every so often because it loses minutes. For example, it was last reset about two months ago for daylight savings and now the time is currently behind by about 10 minutes.
False Advertising! [Posted on 2008-05-27] I'm disappointed in this product because it is not as advertised in the description, on this page!
Above states it is compatible with multiple mp3 players.
On the box however, this is not mentioned, only listing IPODS.
Interesting, how those who have older IPODS are having trouble, when the listing is entirely different!
If I did have an IPOD, I still wouldn't keep this product. A phone call to the manufacturer revealed it will NOT CHARGE YOUR PLAYER, as promised above. What is the point of docking, with no charge?
Almost perfect [Posted on 2008-05-28] I've owned my ILuv for about 1 month now. I love it. It doesn't have that jarring loud wake up sound when you use your IPod for your alarm. I like how it gradually wakes you up. It's very easy to program. The sound is pretty good for it being an alarm clock! The only two negatives which are minor are... my 80 gig classic IPod barely fits into the largest adapter. Also, the round knobs are not so smooth when turning them to adjust the volume or select a station, however that's what the remote can be used for! I highly recommend this product for those looking for an Ipod alarm clock. Oh, it's also an attractive unit to look at as well!
Pretty cool [Posted on 2008-06-04] I like this a lot for its features. I can wake up to the radio, or my ipod tunes. It works with my iPod nano & my old shuffle that looks like a USB memory stick. :)
There are 2 alarm settings so you can set one for radio & one for iPod, for different times and/or volumes.
The sound isn't super fantastic, but it fills the room.
The range between the volume levels is too large. From volume level one to level two is a big jump.
I also think that the display light is WAY too bright even on the lowest setting. When the alarm goes off and if it's dark out still, that wakes me before the music does! :)
I really like the "sleep" button & how easy it is to use. I can set it to play music for up to 2 hours and then shut off. The ONLY problem with this is when it shuts off, the display light comes on, even though I had it set to "off" while on "sleep". This usually will wake me up due to its brightness.
The remote buttons you really have to press hard & aim right at it to get to work. But it's nice to have when that display light comes on so you can dim it if the unit is out of reach.
Overall, it does its job very well. I took one star away for the insanely bright display light and the fact that it comes on when the sleep timer ends.
Great Reception, Great Sound, Perfect Radio [Posted on 2008-06-05] I've been looking for a good bedside clock radio for sometime now, and specifically one that had decent reception on the AM band, and I'd pretty much given up hope.
I was drawn to this product as much for the iPod interface as anything else. My wife and I don't have a sound system in our bedroom and there was something nice about the idea of being able to bring our music to bed with us.
You'll be glad you bought this product for that reason alone. The sound quality that comes out of the radio belies it's relatively small size and low price.
And, yes, it has great radio reception on both the AM and FM bands.
Definitely worth looking into.
