This will make your iPod longer and slighty thicker, and it gives the iPod kind of a "bricky" feel. But when you need long battery life (up to 55 hours?!), I doubt you will care. The skin fits really well and will protect your player very nicely too. Overall, this is an outstanding product.

I bought the battery so I could watch movies on a couple of long trans-pacific flights. It was very easy to set up. I charged the iPod fully and then charged the battery fully. Then I put the two together and got about 12 hours of movie time plus several hours left over for listening to music. The experience made me think about getting a video player with a larger screen (not the new iPod--it has too little memory).
I now take the battery on all of my longer business trips and enjoy watching the movies of my choice without worrying about running out of power. Just a note to others who may be interested: I used AnyDVD and CloneDVDmobile to copy my DVDs into iPod format. The software worked flawlessly and was quicker and easier than I expected it would be.

Other than being huge, it's an awesome device. But I kind of expected it to be larger than hoped, after all, it IS an external battery.
Also, the rubber over the button lock has ripped. I wouldn't recommend using the lock if you have this case, because it takes a fingernail to slide the lock over, and using a fingernail slices the rubber after a while of use.
I don't use it as my day-to-day case, I only use it when I need additional battery. Because of me not using it every second I use my iPod, it's held up very nicely. If you do insist on using it all the time, I would suggest buying one of those clear sticky screen protectors to protect the screen, since this case does not. I did that, and have no complaints. I got mine from Belkin for fairly cheap.
Overall, I recommend this iLuv for those frequent flyers, travellers, or hikers who really need a huge upgrade in battery life. It's a great item!! I haven't found anything better.
