Superb Customer Support [Posted on 2008-06-17] I found the customer support technicians at WiGear to be prompt and extemely professional in addressing my concerns. They completely fixed my problem. Just a friendly caution to others out there to help you avoid frustration: if you are out hiking w/ your headphones and pause your music, you will not be able to notice it if the adapter falls off your player or phone, and you won't be likely to find it if you've been hiking for miles. So, if you are going to pause your tunes, it's best to take off the adapter and place it in a zippered pocket; this will also prevent it from draining the battery of your phone or music player as the adapter "searches" for the headphones. I particularly appreciate no longer having a wire to the ipod getting tangled amongst my two dogs' leashes when we are out and about. I also enjoy this wonderful alternative to exposed earphone wires getting tangled in my hair from windgusts as I ride up a long chairlift, constantly moving earbuds out of position...lovely to instead put the imuffs on under my helmet and listen to music during such pauses in skiing!
worked ok for a little bit, but transmitter doesn't work too well [Posted on 2008-06-23] For me, the bluetooth transmitter doesn't work very well. It is too large to be that useful for walking around and it doesn't fit with my iPod case, so I can't use both together. It also doesn't connect very snugly, which means that if I carry it loose it keeps cutting out because the connection between the transmitter and the iPod is interrupted. So I end up using it only when I'm in one place and just leave my iPod on the desk. Even then the connecton is bad enough that I have to do all sorts of tricks to get the transmitter to work, like laying the iPod on a desk with a pencil under the transmitter to keep the connection (otherwise I only get the left speaker in the headphones).
Good idea, not great execution. If I'd realized these problems earlier, I would have just returned it. I thought it was something I was doing. I basically almost never use it anymore because of these problems.
If someone else could do a version of these headphones that had a smaller transmitter that worked well, that'd be great. I can't recommend these though.
IMuff Headphones [Posted on 2008-07-08] IMuff Headphones did not work well with the IPhone. The headphones would shut off and you would have to turn off the IPhone and try to find the connection between the two again. Very time consuming.
not durable [Posted on 2008-07-29] i recently purchased this product. i used it maybe 12-14 times working out before it completely shut down. i am so disappointed, as soon as i started using it i knew it was not built very well i did my best to protect it from the smallest things but still it just stoped working i didnt drop it, i didnt get it wet, i didnt do anything it was simply on my head and stoped. these are the worst headphones i have ever had.
Stay away from this product and company [Posted on 2008-08-02] I purchased this product about a year ago. It never worked well. Almost every time I used it, I needed to jiggle with the connection by either removing and replacing the bluetooth adapter or turning off and on to keep the connection and hear anything out of the connection. After a few minutes it was workable with adequate sound quality. I continued to use it because of the convenience of wireless operation and the fact I had paid so much for it. After about 10.5 months, they stopped working altogether. I called the company and they had me return them for evaluation. They then said they would not honor the warranty because of water damage. This if far to much to pay for a mediocre product and a company that won't stand behind them.
