This product works decently for a few weeks, but after a while and for no real reason the sound becomes completely distorted, basically only playing bass at high volumes. No other sounds will come out of the speakers. A co-worker experienced the same problem not once, but twice. After the speakers randomly started acting up, he bought a new pair of speakers, thinking the first pair was defective, only to have the same highly distored and unlistenable sound a day later. Then he thought it was his iPod giving him trouble, so he tested it on my set of speakers, which were working fine at that point. His music played without a problem through my speakers. The next day, I experienced the same exact problem, even though I have a newer 30gb ipod video. So, it's clearly not the ipod - it's the speakers.
Three sets of these speakers have had the same problem. Although they're quite cheap, it's still not worth the risk. Even when they were working, the sound was no better than a radio, and the volume wasn't sufficient. Spend a little extra money and get something of better quality and reliability.

I just got it, and it has a perfect sound quality! As good as my computer! Maybe better, since my computer's speakers suck. I was worried at first, not seeing that it could hold my iPod Shuffle... But it does!

I agree 100% with Brian below. When I first got the speakers I thought they were great. The sound was crisp and loud for such a small size. They were easily compactible and good for travel.
However, after using them one night on full volume, they blew out. The speakers should not be allowed to go as loud as they can if they will blow out. They blow out extremely easily and you can not use them to their full potential without breaking them forever. Now the sound is distorted and they are pretty much useless.
Do not buy, go for something a little bit more expensive, it will be worth it.

Not hi-fi sound, but I didn't pay hi-fi price, either. Just fine for what I need.

The portability of these speakers is wonderful. HOWEVER, the plug clearly has a loose connection because I have to tape the plug to the power cord at a weird angle and then hope there isn't a breeze coming through the window to dislodge it. If you care about music quality and product durability, well, don't buy a $20 pair of speakers.
