Customer Reviews:

Great idea! Terrible Design. [Posted on 2008-01-03]
This was a Christmas present for my 8 year old who also was getting an MP3 player. She loved it, but it had a short and wouldn't work correctly. I returned it to Wal-mart and got another one. It also would not work. We finally had to tell her it was a waste of money and we'll try to find her another design. Don't disappoint your kids!

iflop = truth in advertising [Posted on 2008-01-05]
Unlike many of the other reviews I've read, our iflop penguin didn't have a short. Instead, every time the lights flashed (which could be multiple times a second) it created an audible *POP* and caused the music to sound like a static-y mess. Doesn't anyone test this stuff?

I-FLOP named appropriately! [Posted on 2008-01-05]
And flop it did! Like all the other posters, I tried two of them and neither would work properly. The sound kept cutting out once you turned the volume up. Seemed okay on low, but really the sound wasn't very loud even turned all the way up. To be expected, I suppose, from something that runs off 4AA batteries. Too bad - it was such a cute item for my daughter.

Great [Posted on 2008-01-07]
My daughter bought one of these with her gift card money. I was worried about it working because it was so inexpensive. She loves it. It does have a boost or amplifier that runs off AA batteries. When we turn on the amplifier, the sound quality is very distorted. We just keep the amplifier off and use the speakers without the amplifier. She loves it. The sound isn't top quality but it is great for her. I like it because we don't have to have more batteries. I think it was a wise purchase for her.

Own 2, never had a problem [Posted on 2008-07-07]
We own two of these (bought them on closeout at a local "Big Box" store). They are both awesome (no problems with the cords) and my son loves them. I'm adding them to our wish list as we are expecting another child in a few months, and we want her to have her own. The sound is decent and the two we have seem pretty rugged (they've been man-handled by a little boy for two years now!!)
